Overview
Through passion, faith, and fate, eight diverse lives collide and intertwine in a journey of the heart, giving each a second chance none of them could have ever dreamed possible.
Vilas and Annika are best friends from childhood living in Chad; they marry and have a daughter Luna. They become separated due to Civil War.
Vilas flees to an IDP camp in Eastern Chad, while Annika escapes with Luna, who she discovers has a congenital heart condition, which requires a heart transplant for her survival.
Classmates throughout high school and college, Kabir is gay, but has not come out, while Benjamin is conflicted and continually has female relationships trying to convince himself he is straight. Several times the two almost connect but something always comes between them.
Benjamin goes to medical school and becomes a heart surgeon while Kabir goes off the grid and devotes his life to humanitarian causes, ending up at the IDP camp in Eastern Chad.
Caleb is a New York City cab driver in a tumultuous marriage with an alcoholic wife; they have a young son, Apollo. Heartbroken, and no longer able to endure the insanity of his relationship; he gets a divorce and retains custody of Apollo.
Sydnie is happily married, but devastated she is unable to have children. Her husband is in a near-fatal car accident. She tries valiantly to find the organ transplants needed to save his life, but is stymied by the system, and he dies. She dedicates her life to helping people receive the organ transplants they need.
Through six degrees of separation lives are changed and dreams come true.
